1% Better, Right Now

Alex Hormozi completely altered his business strategy in 2019.

By that point, he’d already been an entrepreneur for over 6 years and had a good understanding of how to buy, sell, franchise, & scale businesses for tens of millions of dollars. But he wanted to be 10x bigger.

When Forbes published a feature story that Kylie Jenner had become the youngest female self-made billionaire (which we now know was bogus),it depressed him for several days.

“If someone is making more money than me, I believe they fundamentally have a better understanding of the game of business than I do. They’re better than me.”

After wallowing for a bit, he shifted his energy to analyze what exactly made Kylie’s game better, and the answer was clear:

Brand.

Kylie had spent years building a public-facing brand through tens of thousands of social media posts, videos, and TV appearances.

To her, brand was everything. To Hormozi, it was an afterthought. And that was enough for him to switch gears.

Hormozi immediately made content a priority - a non-negotiable - in his business strategy, and it is paying off. Today, he and his wife Leila publish 300+ pieces of content per week across all platforms, and have accumulated millions of followers.

They are only 4 years into taking the brand game seriously - imagine where they’ll be in another decade publishing at the same (or likely increased) rate.

Now if you’re subscribed to this newsletter, chances are you have some sort of video strategy in place. My challenge to you is to crank it up by 1%.

Have you added captions to your videos? Asked for feedback from a colleague? Color-corrected poor lighting?

Going from 0 to 60 like the Hormozis can require time and resources that not all of us have. So, how can you improve your strategy by just 1 percent?
