A Confused Mind (Always) Says No

A Confused Mind (Always) Says No

“For the simplicity on this side of complexity, I wouldn't give you a fig. But for the simplicity on the other side of complexity, for that I would give you anything I have.”

― Oliver Wendell Holmes

In the post-production process, my team and I spent the most time on the first 30 seconds of the video.  The introduction is the highest leverage point in the video and worth the extra effort.

It’s also the easiest part of the video to overthink.

If you’re moderately online, you’ve seen the midwit meme.

If you care to read a newsletter on video marketing, you aspire to reach the right side of the bell curve.

The midwit mistake is aiming for a hyper-engineered introduction that makes a profound creative statement.

The simple truth is that you need to make the subject of the video clear immediately. Everything else is secondary.

Elite video marketers will weave in tight writing, relevant imagery, and an open loop to get viewers excited to stick around.

But they will never sacrifice clarity in service to those elements.

Keep it simple.

The simplest way to save yourself time, while improving the quality of your videos is to hire a professional editor.

The biggest challenges around this include;

  1. How do I let go of control?

  2. Where do I find a competent editor?

  3. How do I vet an editor’s skills?

  4. Can I afford to hire someone?

We will answer all these questions (and more) in our May 26th live training. Go sign up to attend (limited seats available).
