Delegate, So You Can Do You

If you’re determined to own every area, you might be (are) imposing a ceiling on your potential.

Delegate, So You Can Do You

Growing up I read Sports Illustrated cover to cover.

Every season preview. Every play profile. Every Rick Reilly column.

I no longer follow baseball, but back then it was the only thing that carried the sports calendar in summer besides golf.

So, I’d inevitably read pieces about Five-Tool prospects, set to transform their teams. A Five Tool baseball player is one that can ‘Do It All’.

Speed, power, contact, glove work and a cannon arm,

Vladimir Guerroro, A-Rod, and Ken Griffey Jr. all promised to follow in the steps of Willie Mays,  young Bonds, and Bo Jackson.

But, the reality is that most ballplayers can get by with being strong in a few areas, then teaming with others that have complementary skills.

The same is true with your video marketing.

The myth of the do-it-all creator is exceptionally rare.

Write, Perform on Camera, Edit, Graphic Design, and Market? Sure, some unicorns exist… but they are rare (and expensive to hire).

Instead, the underpriced asset is the young hustler with one distinct skill.

Give them an opportunity to solely focus on one part of your video marketing (perhaps part-time?) and you will go further.

If you’re determined to own every area, you might be (are) imposing a ceiling on your potential.

Yesterday, I ran a Webinar on Planning Your Video Marketing for 2024.

It was well-received and a few people asked for me to run it back.

So… we will be hosting another Planning Workshop on Thursday January 4th.
