Fix It Early
At my video production firm, Piper Creative, we’ve delivered over 1,000 videos for our clients.
Occasionally, we will get a client project within inches of the finish line. The footage is color corrected, the content is organized, the pacing is strong, music, everything.
And then someone will ask for a specific element to be replaced, changed or fixed. It will be the tone a speaker delivered their line or an item that is sitting in the background.
Luckily, modern Ai tools have made this easier. But it is still a pain and rarely looks/sounds great. It’s usually passable.
As clients with a video need, they need to have a clear vision for what they want as early as possible.
But as production partners, we need to be better at helping clients clarify their vision and identifying potential issues early on.
It is SO MUCH EASIER to change a background while you’re there shooting in person.
Same thing for delivering a line with different tonality or making sure that the HVAC isn’t humming off in the background.
You can save yourself loads of time (and money) by addressing issues during production and having a plan before you start shooting.
Relying on ‘post production magic’ is a recipe for dissatisfaction, missed deadlines, and frustration.
Measure twice, cut once.
My YouTube channel is approaching 100,000 subscribers and recently passed 10 million views.
It has taken years of studying, testing, and creating to be able to consistently produce high-performing videos.
If you’d like to learn how to build a system like that for your business, join the Piper Video Guild where you’ll get insightful live trainings, on-demand skill sessions, and a private community for feedback and support.
It is exactly what I needed 5 years ago, and I am building it now for the next generation of elite video marketers.
